Ardleigh Red Route

An Experimental Traffic Regulation Order has been introduced on Old Ipswich Road, Ardleigh in response to safety concerns and following consultation with residents and businesses at that location.

Following local feedback, we reviewed parking restrictions on Old Ipswich Road, Ardleigh. Design discussions and planning have since taken place and, as a result, on the week commencing 9 May 2022 we installed parking restrictions under an Experimental Traffic Regulation Order (ETRO). This restriction consists of approximately 98 metres of limited waiting (6 hours no return within 1 hour). Documents and maps detailing this scheme can be found below.

The experimental order will allow us to determine whether the new restrictions have been successful or if amendments are needed. An experimental order can be in place for up to 18 months, but we hope to consider any objections or other comments after 6 months of the order being operational.

Turnpike Close Survey

Residents and businesses located in the area of Turnpike Close were invited to comment via an online survey during May and June 2022, helping us to assess and address any parking displacement occurring due to the introduction of this ETRO. The results of this survey indicated a level of support for additional restrictions.

Now that seven months have passed since these restrictions were introduced, we are carrying out a further survey with proposals for additional restrictions, to garner the level of support present. Further details can be found at the link below.
